Exhibitions

This Spring at Harewood House we celebrate the tercentenary of the birth of Thomas Chippendale with the launch of Chippendale: Designer, Maker Decorator.

This exhibition, on the State Floor and in the Grounds and Gardens, celebrates the unique relationship between Harewood and Chippendale. Harewood provided Chippendale's most significant commission, which lasted for 30 years.

Featuring an innovative display of the Diana and Minerva Commode, a recreation of the White Drawing room and an original Harewood copy of The Director. Explore the natural materials and inspiration for the work of Chippendale in our Tree to Table Trail in the Gardens and Grounds . Below Stairs learn about conservation and maintenence of the Chippendale Collection at Harewood and the techniques and materials the master craftsman employed.

The State Floor part of the exhibition is open between 11am and 4pm, last entry is at 3.30pm. Check here for full details of opening hours.
