A Thomas Chippendale celebration @ Leeds City Museum

To mark the 300th anniversary of Chippendale's baptism on 5th June, join us for a 'birthday' party. There will be demonstrations of some of the crafts used by Chippendale as well as a chance to have a go for yourself.

Celebrating the Birth of Thomas Chippendale @ Stew and Oyster

A light hearted celebration of Chippendale's Birthday in the town of his birth and at the school he probably attended, now a pub.

The Stew & Oyster, originally Prince Henry's Grammar School (since moved, but still Otley's High School) will host a Birthday Party for Thomas Chippendale, with specially brewed Chippend Ale, a Chippendale Stew, period folk music, an 18th Century Quiz and more. Look out for the photos of his wonderful furniture.

This event is accessible to wheelchairs.

Enter The Chippendale Birthday Bake Off Competition celebrating the 300th Anniversary of Chippendale's Birthday and join the festivities at Paxton House!

A chance for you to have your creative Chippendale-inspired baking masterpieces displayed alongside the renowned Chippendale collection at Paxton House! What furniture and decoration will inspire you? A competition for all ages and lots of festivities to celebrate the opening of The Paxton Style exhibition.

No. 32 'Hutton' Bus from Berwick Upon Tweed operated by Perrymans, departs daily (except Sundays  from outside The Castle Hotel, next to Berwick train station and comes into the car park at Paxton. Mainline rail station at Berwick Upon Tweed. Only three miles from this station to Paxton by car/bus/taxi.

Car park in grounds next to house with disabled access spaces and spaces for coaches. Coaches please phone in advance to ensure availability of space.
