In celebration of the 300thanniversary of Thomas Chippendale’s birth, the V&A are showing two related displays drawn from the Museum’s rich collection of his furniture designs. The first includes drawings for the 3rdedition of The Director’and a second will present a series of publications associated with Chippendale and his contemporaries. This display will be complemented by clips from a recently discovered silent film made in the 1920’s when his work was undergoing a renaissance of interest.
