Our Conservation in Action Demonstrations take place every Tuesday at 2pm
Join us every Tuesday afternoon to see live conservation demonstrations in the Servant’s Hall, Below Stairs.
It is the job of our small permanent team, as well as a group of trained volunteers and occasionally, specialist external conservators, to ensure our collections are carefully looked after. Our in-house team is trained to care for and handle everything from paintings, furniture, ceramics, silverware and clocks.
Recently the team have been working on removing nearly two hundred years of dust and dirt from fragments of Chippendale mirrors that were dismantled and packed away in the Victorian period. The team will be undertaking live cleaning sessions every Tuesday for all our visitors to see.
The House and grounds are open between 23rd March and 4th November, 2018.
